St. John's Hacks 2026

Feb 7-8, 2026

St. John’s Hacks 2026 was a two-day, student-led hackathon that brought together participants to collaborate in teams to design, build, and present original technical projects. Expanded from previous years, the event marked the first time the hackathon operated in a multi-day format, allowing for deeper project development, extended mentorship, and increased engagement.

St. John’s Hacks 2026 was a 30-hour, in-person hackathon held at St. John’s University on February 7–8, 2026. Expanded into a two-day format for the first time, the event provided participants with extended time to collaborate, develop, and refine original technical projects.

The hackathon focused on the themes of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, and Computer Science, encouraging students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world, innovation-driven challenges.

Open to St. John’s University undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent alumni, the event welcomed participants of all experience levels. Following the Opening Ceremony, students formed teams of 2–4 members, selected a challenge track, and worked throughout the weekend to build and present functional project solutions.

All official communication and coordination were centralized through the event’s Discord platform, ensuring streamlined updates and community engagement. Instagram (@stjhacks) served as the primary promotional channel leading up to the event.

Designed to be beginner-friendly and inclusive, St. John’s Hacks 2026 emphasized collaboration, mentorship, creativity, and experiential learning, reinforcing the University’s commitment to student-led innovation and professional development in emerging technology fields.
